I know there are some eye rolling moments, but I personally liked season 5 a lot, up to episode 8. It is a reminder of things going on in the world we don't like to be reminded of, so maybe that's it. I get a feeling not a lot of viewers liked the setting. I suppose there could be lots of fans waiting for it to end so they can binge it and I know Fox said the next day viewings were good, so maybe everyone is watching it later. I think they only had the fans at heart when they came up with this idea, which makes it all the more heartbreaking. I know I would feel rotten for trying to revive a show I loved so much and have it tank.
I feel really bad for WM and DP since this seems to be their baby. I know everyone has differing opinions on liking it or hating it, and they say the pace, writing and acting are bad, but what made it fall so far? Weren't the ratings when it originally aired back in the day in the ten million range? Where did the fans go? I would think people who hated the season 4 ending would watch it in droves to see if it will improve that sad ending. I read what the ratings were and episode 8 was worse by far.
